Bird's Eye View

I'd call this a win-win....I get to feed the birds out of my hand while enjoying the views from our "poop deck" as I call it ....we've spoiled the birds for sure...and the squirrels....we even have a de-icer for them wintertime so they always have fresh water...delightful! Hugs

Enjoying the wonderful variety of birds that come to our feeders....these are pine siskins...they peep like a canary, and have yellow stripes on their wings...what joy to feel those tiny feet in your hands! Hugs.

Hey Bear!

We've a abundance of wildlife living out of town...we are 15 miles out of the town of Homer Alaska, in the mountains facing the Kachemak Bay near it's head, 180 degrees facing the mountains and glaciers across the bay from our windows...we have the most beautiful view, and as you can see this bear is one of many passing through...I watched him way below walking up the dirt road that belongs to the only neighbor below us, and had a feeling he would soon be passing through our place, and sure enough...he was big, at least bigger than the ones that have passed through lately, and just feet away from our windows...we have to take in our bird feeders every evening, and this was 5AM and I had just put all the feeders out on the "poop deck" as I call it ....it's such a small deck but the birds and squirrels give us great pleasure all year around...anyway, this bear sniffed the raised deck, and could have cared less....these days they've lots of luscious grass to feed on, and he meandered up the road. Neat, huh? Hugs.

Eagle Soaring

This is one of my favorite eagle photos in my collection as I felt I captured his 7 ft. wingspan in midair, in all it's glory. Just being right place right time, right out my window. Life is Good. Hugs.

Just came across one of my favorites...a few years ago in our back yard the moose were munching on the young and sweet fireweeds...we had moose sleep uner our windows there! Here we sure have moose, along with black bear, plenty of 'em, and recently we saw a big brown bear below...wintertime we saw a wolf below....it's nice living on the side of a mountain...last night a black bear was convinced he could drag away our bear proof garbage can but it was bigger than him! We watched him walk around and sit down, walk around again....and I was so excited thinking as he walked in front of my wildlife camcamera I "caught" him on film.....but no, my settings were too high and I got lovely photos of the mountains and glaciers and Kachemak Bay, but no bear! I'll get it right yet!

Young moose

This is about the youngest moose I've "captured" on film...it was in our driveway in Fritz Creek when we rented a small cabin. Isn't it darling?

Icebergs!

Here you go....isn't it gorgeous? As we turned around and left one "exploded" like a sonic boom! It had rolled over....awesome experience for sure!
